KANGRA FORT
Kangra fort is situated near Dharamshala at a distance of 20km. This place is located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Kangra fort is known as the largest fort in the Himalayas. Kangra Fort is the oldest fort which is known for its 21 treasure wells and each well is 4 meters deep. If you want to know Indian history better then you must visit the Maharaja Sansar Chand Museum which is located on the backside of this Fort. Kangra Fort is a perfect picturesque place.
It is believed that this Fort was built by the Maharaja Sushrma Chandra 3500 years ago. This was a Katoch royal family and Maharaja Sushrma had built Kangra Fort. Maharaja Susarma fought in Mahabharata with Kauravas. When Kauravas defeat Maharaja Susram returns back to Kangra with his soldiers. Along with soldiers he took Trigarta under his control and built this Fort for their protection of the Kingdom.
NAGGAR
Naggar is situated 217 km away from Dharamshala in the Kullu district near the Beas river. Not many people know about this ancient town. Naggar can be reached within the driving distance of 220 km from Dharamshala. Naggar has virgin villages, surrounding Kasol.
